Cardano plans to launch the Ouroboros Leios upgrade, which theoretically can achieve processing 1 million transactions per second.

According to Deep Tide TechFlow news on May 5th, reported by 99Bitcoins, Cardano is preparing to launch the Ouroboros Leios upgrade, which aims to significantly enhance network scalability. This upgrade will achieve performance improvements by decoupling transaction transmission, verification, and Block sorting.

It is reported that after the upgrade, Cardano’s transaction processing speed is expected to increase from currently less than 20 transactions per second to more than 10,000 transactions per second, theoretically reaching up to 1 million transactions per second. In addition, Cardano plans to integrate technologies such as Ouroboros Peras, the Hydra Layer 2 scaling solution, and the Midgard optimistic rollup platform to further enhance network performance. Currently, Cardano is in the Voltaire development phase, led by the Input Output Global (IOG) team.
