Many of us are waiting for the moment when we can finally transfer our Pi coins to the mainnet. If you're just starting your journey with Pi Network or having trouble with the verification process, I’ll share what I know about Pi KYC.
First of all – KYC verification (Know Your Customer) is a necessary condition to transfer your mined Pi coins. The process is theoretically simple, but many people report issues with submitting documents, presence checks, or system detection.
If you want to complete Pi KYC, you need to meet a few requirements. First – you must be at least 18 years old. Second – you need an original government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, or ID card). Third – you will need to take a selfie for face verification. Fourth – you must have been mining Pi for at least 30 days. The entire process takes about 5-10 minutes.
To start the verification, open the Pi Network app, go to the Mainnet section, and click on the KYC tab. Select your country, the document type (passport is recommended), then take a photo of the front and back of the document in landscape orientation. Then fill out the form with the data from your document and take a selfie for presence verification.
Importantly – after submitting your application, the waiting period can range from a few days to several months. You can check your Pi KYC status in your Pi Network profile – if you see a green checkmark, it means you are verified. If you see a loading animation, the app is still reviewing your submission.
The verification system works in such a way that already verified users review new applicants’ submissions. For each Pi KYC verification, you will be charged 1 Pi coin, which will go to the verifiers. Sometimes the system may ask you to retake the photo if the document isn’t clear enough.
If your application is rejected or you encounter issues with Pi KYC, you can try again. The most important thing is to ensure that your documents are legible and that your face on the selfie is clearly visible and matches the one on the document.
