According to a report by Reuters on December 2nd, the CEO of the European stablecoin alliance will be Jan-Oliver Sell, who previously worked at Coinbase in Germany. ING digital asset head Floris Lugt will serve as CFO, and former Chairman of the National Westminster Bank Howard Davies will take on the role of Chairman. In addition, BNP Paribas has also joined the alliance.
According to previous news, nine major European banks including ING, Banca Sella, KBC, Danske Bank, DekaBank, UniCredit, SEB, CaixaBank, and Raiffeisen Bank International announced in September this year the joint launch of a euro stablecoin project regulated by MiCA, aiming to counter the dominance of the United States in the digital payment field.
