Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 25 — According to Bitcoin News, 500 BTC related to Irish drug dealer Clifton Collins, previously deemed permanently lost, recently appeared in on-chain transfers, nearly 10 years after the last activity.

Collins purchased about 6,000 BTC between 2011 and 2012 using proceeds from selling marijuana, and stored them across 12 wallets. His private keys were kept on paper, hidden inside a fishing rod case in a rented house in Galway, Ireland. After Collins was arrested in 2017, the house was cleared out, and his personal belongings were sent to the landfill.

Since then, both authorities and Collins believed the private keys were permanently lost, and the court also ruled the assets as criminal proceeds to be confiscated. The recent on-chain transfer of 500 BTC suggests that these assets may not have been completely lost.
