Deep Tide TechFlow News, January 15, according to CoinDesk, blockchain lending company Figure announced the launch of a blockchain-native stock trading platform called “On-Chain Public Equity Network”(OPEN), allowing companies to directly issue stocks on the Provenance blockchain, bypassing traditional intermediaries such as DTCC, reducing costs and increasing transparency. The platform will be hosted by BitGo, with liquidity support provided by Jump Trading. Investors can lend and borrow their holdings through DeFi without relying on prime brokers. Figure plans to be the first company to list its own stock on this platform, with its Nasdaq-listed shares being interchangeable with the new blockchain-registered stocks.
