On January 26, according to reports, Japan’s Immigration Bureau announced that the number of foreign visitors in 2024 was approximately 36.78 million, reaching a new high. Compared to the peak in 2019 since the start of statistics in 1950, there was an increase of about 5.59 million. The Immigration Bureau believes this is due to the increase in international flights and the continuous depreciation of the yen.
