Iran designates a safe navigation lane in the Strait of Hormuz, requiring ships to coordinate passage with the Revolutionary Guard

Gate News update: On April 8, according to Iran’s SNN news agency, the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization said on April 9 that it has designated safe transit lanes through the Strait of Hormuz. Vessels must use these lanes in coordination with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The agency noted that safe entry lanes run from the waters of the Oman Sea to the north side of Larak Island, while safe lanes coming from the Gulf must enter the Oman Sea via the south side of Larak Island.
