PANews 3月3日消息，据CoinDesk报道，美国参议院银行委员会在最新推出的两党住房法案中，加入了一项临时禁止美联储发行央行数字货币（CBDC）的条款。这项由委员会主席Tim Scott和资深成员Elizabeth Warren共同提出的《21世纪通往住房法案》，旨在通过削减监管障碍来促进美国住房建设。
在这份303页的法案中，仅占两页的CBDC禁令条款规定，美联储理事会或联邦储备银行不得直接或通过金融机构等中介发行或创建CBDC或任何与其实质相似的数字资产。该禁令有效期至2030年12月31日，并为完全保留实物货币隐私保护的无许可、私有的“美元计价”货币设立了例外条款。白宫发布的支持该法案的声明中，明确提及支持这一CBDC条款，称其“阻止了可能对个人隐私和自由构成重大威胁的CBDC的开发”。此前国会曾多次尝试通过类似禁令，众议院去年曾作为单独法案通过，但迄今未能在国会完全获批。
