PayPal has also introduced cryptocurrencies for person-to-person payments.
After its cryptocurrency purchase in 2020, which virtually ushered in a bull season, PayPal made another significant move. The world’s largest payment company has opened the way for cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, and the company's own stablecoin PYUSD, to be sent globally.
Previously, users could only select PayPal or Venmo customers to send cryptocurrency. However, the system is now open to the world, and PayPal customers, along with those of Venmo, a subsidiary of the company, will be able to send cryptocurrency to anyone they wish.
Will be sent through a single link…
PayPal has actually been providing P2P (person-to-person) payment services for a long time. However, this has been expanded to include cryptocurrencies as well. Additionally, transactions will be further facilitated through the "PayPal Links" feature. Transfers will be easily carried out via a link created in the PayPal system. The link will lose its functionality after 10 days, thus the system will largely avoid security issues.
As a result, PayPal users will be able to send not only within PayPal or Venmo but also to wallets supporting cryptocurrencies and stablecoins worldwide.
