According to a report by Cointelegraph on April 15, deep tide TechFlow news, Emblem Vault’s CEO Jake Gallen suffered a hacker attack after a suspicious Zoom video conference, resulting in a loss of over $100,000 in Bitcoin and Ether assets.

According to reports, the attacker impersonated YouTube blogger “Tactical Investing”, who has over 90,000 subscribers, and used the remote access feature enabled by default on Zoom during a video interview to install malware called “GOOPDATE” on Gallen’s computer. Cybersecurity company SEAL stated that the hacker group is known as “ELUSIVE COMET”, which typically operates under the identity of Aureon Capital venture capital firm, and has caused millions of dollars in financial losses.

SEAL security researchers advise that cryptocurrency industry practitioners should promptly disable Zoom remote access features to prevent similar attacks.
