#Market Impact of Stablecoin Surge
Giant Company Bought 6,911 More Bitcoins: Now They Have 500,000 BTC!
The technology company Strategy, known for its Bitcoin investments, formerly MicroStrategy, has increased its total Bitcoin reserves to over 500,000 BTC with its latest acquisition. The company purchased 6,911 BTC for approximately 584 million dollars between March 17-23, bringing its total to 506,137 BTC. This significant step by Strategy once again highlights its commitment to Bitcoin investments, and the company's growing portfolio and financial strategies have resonated broadly in the investment world.
Strategy surpassed the 500 thousand Bitcoin threshold.
The central Bitcoin company Strategy (, formerly known as MicroStrategy), purchased approximately 6,911 BTC for about 584.1 million dollars between March 17 and March 23, increasing its total Bitcoin reserves to over 500,000 BTC. The company’s latest purchase was made at an average price of 84,529 dollars per Bitcoin. Strategy’s total BTC assets have now reached 506,137 BTC, indicating that the company has a Bitcoin portfolio worth approximately 44 billion dollars.
Strategy financed these new purchases with the revenue generated from the sale of Class A common stocks and perpetual futures preferred stocks (STRK). Michael Saylor, the co-founder and chairman of the company, stated that the average cost of Strategy's total BTC purchases was $66,608 per Bitcoin. The total cost of these purchases is approximately $33.7 billion, including transactions and expenses.
STRK sales are ongoing
These purchases are part of the previously announced $42 billion capital increase target under Strategy's 21/21 plan. Last week, the company further advanced this plan by selling 1,975,000 MSTR shares for approximately $592.6 million. Additionally, under STRK sales, 13,100 STRK shares were sold for $1.1 million last week. Currently, STRK shares worth $20.99 billion are ready to be offered for sale.
Strategy's Bitcoin investments make up 2.4% of the company's total Bitcoin supply. Since Bitcoin's total supply is capped at 21 million, this situation makes Strategy's impact on the market significant. However, there are also concerns among some investors regarding the company's increasing BTC purchases and the premium NAV (Net Asset Value) value. Nevertheless, Strategy's shares have performed well recently, showing an increase of over 90% in the past year.
The company's continuously increasing BTC purchases and strategic financing plans are being closely monitored in the investment world. However, predictions and analyses regarding the future impacts of such a large investment may provide important clues about how the company's strategy will shape.
