At the moment, BlackRock owns around 569,000 bitcoins with a total value of $57.75 billion. Since the creation of its ETF, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), the asset management giant has been consistently buying the world's leading cryptocurrency, increasing its balance from 220 on January 6, 2024 to 552,000 on the last day of the same year. Since early 2025, BlackRock has acquired an additional 17,000 BTC, which is equivalent to 1.7 billion. Despite some volatility in the balance, on January 9th BlackRock had 559,000 BTC, and on January 16th it had 554,000. The overall trajectory of the cryptocurrency in management was mainly stable.
