After the release of U.S. initial unemployment claims data, the probability of the Federal Reserve keeping interest rates unchanged in April rose to 99.5%.
Mars Finance reports that on April 16, the number of initial unemployment claims in the United States for the week ending April 11 was 207k, below the expected 215k, with the previous figure revised from 219k to 218k.
According to CME “Federal Reserve Watch” data, after the release of today’s U.S. initial unemployment claims data, the probability that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged in April is 99.5%, and the probability of a 25 basis point rate hike is 0.5%.
