Trump says he is "deeply negotiating" with Iran and was once close to holding direct talks.

Mars Finance news: On April 5, according to Axios, U.S. President Trump said in a phone interview that the United States is holding “in-depth negotiations” with Iran, with hopes of reaching an agreement before Tuesday’s deadline. “The chances of reaching an agreement are very good, but if they don’t reach it, I will destroy everything there.” When asked whether he was worried about harming innocent civilians, Trump said he believes the Iranian people who oppose their country’s government would support such strikes in order to weaken the regime. In an approximately 8-minute phone interview, Trump also said that his special envoys, Wittekoff and Kushner, are engaged in intensive negotiations with Iran. Two people familiar with the talks said that communication takes place not only through intermediaries such as Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey, but also through text messages between Trump’s advisers and Iran’s foreign minister, Araghchi. Trump said negotiations are progressing smoothly, but dealing with the Iranian people is always difficult to reach the finish line. A few days ago, the two sides had come close to an agreement to hold direct talks, but they said they would meet again in five days. “I asked, why five days? I think they’re not taking it seriously enough. So I attacked that bridge.”
