After the U.S. initial unemployment claims data was released, the probability of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates by 25 basis points in April is 6.2%.

Mars Finance reports that for the week ending March 21, the number of initial unemployment claims in the United States was 210,000, matching the expected 210,000 and up slightly from the previous 205,000. According to CME “Fed Watch” data, after the release of today’s US initial unemployment claims data, the probability of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates by 25 basis points in April is now 6.2%, while the chance of holding rates steady is 93.8%.
