The boom and bust of the metaverse is actually a microcosm of the tech industry: when a concept is over-packaged, expectations far exceed reality, and capital floods in recklessly, the bubble bursting is only a matter of time. The lesson it leaves behind is quite simple: no matter how cool a concept is, if it can't solve one fundamental question—"why should users use this?"—then it's destined to be nothing more than a fleeting phenomenon.
