160 billion USD could flow into Bitcoin from just one bank
📊 Morgan Stanley is managing around 8 trillion USD in assets for wealthy clients. They recommend allocating 0 to 4% of portfolios into Bitcoin.
Strategy CEO Phong Le calculated that if the average allocation is 2%, then 160 billion USD will flow into Bitcoin. This figure is 3 times the total assets of IBIT, BlackRock's largest Bitcoin ETF in the world, currently at around 50 billion USD.
🏦 The context is that Morgan Stanley just submitted a filing to the US Securities (SEC) Commission to launch its own spot Bitcoin ETF with the ticker MSBT.
Previously they had allowed clients to buy Bitcoin ETFs from other providers, but now want to issue their own. Coinbase will custody Bitcoin for the fund, with BNY Mellon providing administration.
