Madrid denies cooperation with the US in Middle East operations, said Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares. The diplomat promptly responded to White House Press Secretary Caroline Livit's comments about Spain's changing stance regarding US plans for its military bases.
"The position of the Spanish government regarding the war in the Middle East and the bombings in Iran, as well as the use of our bases, has not changed one iota," Albares said on Cadena SER radio.
Earlier, he stated that Spain had prohibited the US from using bases in southern Spain for any strikes not authorized by the UN Charter.
