February 4, 2026, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consular Department Director Long Zhou met with Camille, Director General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs' International Civic Affairs and Consular Affairs Department. According to Jin10, officials from both countries engaged in extensive communication and exchange of views on deepening bilateral consular cooperation.



During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the strategic consensus reached by the highest leaders of the two countries and regarded it as an important guiding principle for advancing consular work. China and France agree that it is necessary to further strengthen the official consular mechanism, continuously expand convenient channels for citizens of both countries to travel and communicate, and make procedures for personnel exchanges more convenient and efficient. This initiative aims to enhance the level of China-France cooperation in the consular field and provide higher-quality services for their citizens.

The smooth progress of this meeting reflects a high level of consensus between China and France on diplomatic cooperation, further consolidating the foundation of their strategic partnership.
