MetaMask has recently rolled out full native support for the Tron network across its mobile app and browser extension. This move marks another major step in the crypto wallet provider’s multichain strategy.
The update allows users to manage Tron-based assets and access decentralized applications directly within MetaMask. This reinforces the wallet’s shift from an Ethereum-focused product to a broad Web3 access platform.
MetaMask Completes Native Tron Integration
The Tron integration was developed in collaboration with Tron DAO and was first announced in August as part of MetaMask’s wider multichain expansion plans. With the rollout now complete, Tron becomes a natively supported Layer 1 network within MetaMask’s self-custody wallet, built by Consensys.
This means users no longer need separate wallets or third-party tools to interact with the Tron ecosystem. All core Tron functions are now available directly inside MetaMask.
Furthermore, the integration allows users to manage Tron-based tokens, send USDT on the Tron network, and stake TRX without leaving the MetaMask interface. Users can also interact with Tron-native dapps in the same way they access apps on other supported chains
MetaMask Expands Cross-Chain
MetaMask now supports asset swaps across multiple ecosystems, including Tron, EVM-compatible networks, Solana (SOL), and Bitcoin (BTC). This creates a smoother cross-chain experience and reduces friction for users who operate across different blockchains.
These updates show MetaMask’s move to become a single access point for many blockchains, not just Ethereum. By supporting both EVM and non-EVM networks, MetaMask continues to adapt to a more interconnected and diverse Web3 landscape.
With Tron now fully integrated into MetaMask, users gain easier access to one of the most widely used blockchain networks, while MetaMask strengthens its position as a leading multichain wallet for everyday Web3 activity.
Tron Strengthens MetaMask’s Role in Global Stablecoin Payments
Tron plays a key role in global stablecoin activity, processing over $21 billion in daily stablecoin transfers. By integrating Tron directly, MetaMask makes it easier for users to access payments and decentralized finance (DeFi) tools
The update brings Tron’s high transaction activity and stablecoin economy into a familiar wallet experience. This makes it easier for both new and existing users to get started.
Tron has grown into a major settlement layer for stablecoins and digital assets worldwide. The network now has hundreds of millions of user accounts and billions of completed transactions. It also holds more than $25 billion in total value locked.
