Privacy technology is reshaping the power dynamics of blockchain

The paradox faced by public blockchains is worth deep reflection. On the surface, the complete transparency of on-chain data should promote equality, but in reality, it often has the opposite effect. When all transactions, holdings, and fund flows are 공개, the true beneficiaries are those who possess data analysis tools, have computing resources, and understand on-chain data research.

Large holders can track whale wallets, arbitrageurs can anticipate large transactions in advance, and institutional investors leverage informational advantages to strategize. Transparency, instead of democratizing access, becomes a tool for power concentration—those who control information dominate the market, while most participants remain in the dark.

This is precisely where privacy technology holds value. It is not about concealing the truth, but about changing access rights to information, breaking the existing asymmetry of power. When on-chain privacy matures truly, and everyone can trade and interact in an equal information environment, blockchain can genuinely fulfill its promise of decentralization.

nah this is actually the copium narrative we've been fed since zcash dropped... transparency was never the problem, it's always been about who's running the nodes. privacy tech just gives whales another layer to hide their accumulation phase before the pump 📊

Really? Transparency can actually be the biggest trap. I’ve thought of this point a long time ago. --- So privacy coins are the future? But regulations are coming... --- Wake up, controlling data is controlling the market. This game has never changed. --- But on the other hand, even with complete privacy, ordinary people might not necessarily win. --- I agree with this logic, but how do we prevent rug pulls while implementing privacy technology? --- The idea of reshaping power sounds beautiful, but can privacy technology really be popularized? --- So what we need is a balance between transparency and privacy, not choosing one over the other. --- Whale tracking is inherently a bloody competition. When privacy arrives, they will naturally find other ways. --- Wait, isn’t this saying that Monero and Zcash have already won? --- Agreed, information asymmetry = power asymmetry. This is even more obvious in crypto.

Damn, transparency actually makes things more unequal? That's a brilliant logic, I never thought of that before. --- It's both whales and institutions, do we small investors have to grope around blindly? Privacy technology needs to mature faster. --- Exactly, information asymmetry is the biggest unfairness, no wonder I'm always the bag holder. --- Wait, will privacy chains create new monopolies of power? It doesn't seem that simple. --- This is what Web3 should be doing—breaking the information black box so retail investors can breathe easier. --- It sounds ideal, but who guarantees that privacy tech won't be exploited by big players once it’s developed? --- Case closed, my losses aren’t because I’m bad, it’s because I was beaten in the information war. --- Privacy technology is good, but I’m just worried it will become a new tool for cutting the leeks.

Honestly, transparency is actually the greatest opacity. I agree with this statement. When whales move, they are scrutinized intensely, while we retail investors are still exploring in the dark.
