The Gap Between Spec and Reality in Blockchain Performance

Blockchains boast 100k TPS in whitepapers, yet transactions take 5+ minutes to actually land on-chain. There's a massive disconnect between what projects claim and what users experience in the wild.

Everyone chases theoretical throughput numbers while ignoring what actually matters—real people waiting forever for their transactions to finalize. The speedometer reads 200mph but your car's stuck in traffic.

Finality becomes meaningless when data indexing lags, wallet responses crawl, and the entire stack moves like molasses. Nobody talks about these bottlenecks. They're too busy marketing the headline TPS figure.

It's performance theater. The metrics look great until you try to actually use the thing.

That's why I say most projects are just bragging. No matter how beautiful the white paper is written, it's useless. Only when you actually use it do you realize what "chicken ribs" really mean.
