The Gap Between Spec and Reality in Blockchain Performance
Blockchains boast 100k TPS in whitepapers, yet transactions take 5+ minutes to actually land on-chain. There's a massive disconnect between what projects claim and what users experience in the wild.
Everyone chases theoretical throughput numbers while ignoring what actually matters—real people waiting forever for their transactions to finalize. The speedometer reads 200mph but your car's stuck in traffic.
Finality becomes meaningless when data indexing lags, wallet responses crawl, and the entire stack moves like molasses. Nobody talks about these bottlenecks. They're too busy marketing the headline TPS figure.
It's performance theater. The metrics look great until you try to actually use the thing.

That's why I say most projects are just bragging. No matter how beautiful the white paper is written, it's useless. Only when you actually use it do you realize what "chicken ribs" really mean.

No matter how loud the white paper is hyped, it’s useless. When it’s time to use it, you’ll know what it means to harvest the leek.

The white paper is hyped up to the sky, but in reality, it's still very slow to use. This is the crypto world.

Honestly, these days no one believes the numbers in whitepapers anymore... 100k TPS sounds great on paper, but when actually used, it's still turtle speed. LOL

100k TPS sounds really impressive, but in actual use, I just want to smash my phone...

Exactly right. Every time I read those whitepapers, I want to laugh. 100k TPS sounds awesome, but when you actually use it, it's like a snail...

No one cares about the bragging TPS numbers; when it actually takes 5 minutes to get on the chain, you'll realize you've been scammed.

All the big talk numbers are useless; once you actually use it, you'll know what it really is.

The white paper is hyped up, but when it comes to actual use, it's a complete mess. This is the current state of Web3...

The white paper is hyped up, but it fails as soon as it's used. I'm already tired of this. Waiting five minutes to get on the chain—what's so fast about that?
