Dusk's most challenging part for newcomers is its complex token system.

Currently, there are three versions of DUSK in circulation—the ERC20 version on Ethereum, the BEP20 version on Binance Smart Chain, and the native token on the mainnet. This is not a simple multiple-choice question, but directly affects whether you can participate in subsequent RWA subscriptions or run nodes. If you don't understand this logic, you might not even be able to pay Gas fees.

Many early participants still hold the ERC20 version from the 2018 ICO period. But this is a problem.

Since early 2025, the mainnet has entered Operational Mode, and the supporting Burner contract has been launched. This is not just a matter of "exchanging tokens."

The ERC20 DUSK is essentially a standard token with no practical use—it is "static." But once migrated to the mainnet via the official cross-chain bridge, it upgrades to a Utility Token, becoming an asset with actual functionality.

It becomes the fuel for DuskEVM and the source of Gas fees for privacy transactions. To use an analogy, it's like you originally held a "voucher," and now you go to the official window to exchange it for "chips."

Only with chips in hand can you operate stock trading in the NPEX dApp and have the right to participate in on-chain voting and governance.

All long-term value is concentrated in the native DUSK.

If you're still clinging to the ERC20 version, it's time to study the official Web Wallet's cross-chain migration tutorial. Don't wait until the opportunity window opens and find your funds stuck on the old chain.

It's another complicated cross-chain migration... It should have been unified into a single version a long time ago.

Wow, these three versions of DUSK are really amazing. The ERC20 tokens I got in 2018 are now worthless?

Wow, you're still holding onto the ERC20 from 2018? You really need to migrate it quickly.

Oh no, another three-version chaos battle, my head is about to explode. I can't figure out this migration logic; the ERC20 tokens in my hand might become worthless. Damn, I wish I hadn't hoarded so many old versions. When will the crypto world get simpler? Always messing around like this. The mainnet has launched, but if you don't act quickly, you'll really fall behind. I'm just worried someone keeps delaying the migration and misses the entire window. Vouchers turning into chips sounds good, but the key is to operate correctly. This is the real test of who is actually doing their homework.

It's that complicated logic again; the inventory should have been cleared long ago.

Damn, if you're still using the ERC20 version, you really need to wake up. Otherwise, you'll regret it again later.

Damn it, I'm holding expired ERC20 tokens again. Luckily, I didn't sell everything... Why is this cross-chain migration tutorial still so complicated?
