In the past, whenever a meme was associated with a popular channel or a well-known figure, people would think it was just riding the trend—price surges, story ends. Now? The trend has completely reversed.

Just look at recent phenomena. A certain brand created a "related meme" product, which directly sold over 100,000 units, with pre-orders lining up until January 2026. Even more outrageous, this product has nothing to do with the listed company at all, yet the company's stock price still hit two consecutive limit-ups. The power of a meme has become so great that it can bypass commercial logic and manipulate market sentiment.

By 2025, the Chinese internet might be called the "Year of the Awakening of Network Culture Value."

People no longer see memes as mere emojis. After being refined through short videos and various creative adaptations, more and more people realize—an excellent meme can be directly monetized into purchasing power and stock price. Surprisingly, it doesn't even need to be "real" to support it.

And then, look at what happened next. Various related products sold like crazy: a spicy brand’s "meme-flavored spicy strips" became favorites in community lotteries; recently, a noodle brand gained popularity due to a pun, frequently trending on hot searches. What does this show? When a meme becomes powerful enough, it automatically turns into a traffic portal and a symbol of social identity, attracting brands eager to connect with young consumers.

Brands started to "borrow memes" in return, and even capital is willing to pay for a "blunder," indicating that internet culture has become a new form of social hard currency.

Where will this energy ultimately go?

My observation is that it will evolve from something exclusive to the internet into new New Year’s gifts and social tokens.

During this year's New Year visits, what’s the most impressive gift to give to young people like little nephews or cousins? A beverage related to a meme, or a pack of meme-flavored snacks, or even some virtual assets within the community. Not necessarily expensive, but novel and fun enough to instantly bring people closer and share a knowing smile.

This is a new interpretation of that classic advertising slogan in the new era: This New Year, don’t give gifts; if you do, give network memes.

What’s your take?

Really, now memes have become hard currency, more valuable than anything else This is the ultimate form of Web3, culture is assets Damn, even stock prices can be manipulated, doesn't that mean my meme library is printing money But honestly, how long can this wave last? Feels like the hype from 2021 again Virtual assets as gifts? My friends just don't get this move The era of meme monetization has really arrived, early detection means early profit, brother Isn't this just hype? The tactics are getting old I'm a bit worried if this trend can last until the end of the year, feels like it's cooling off again Can a pun on homophones really trigger a limit-up? The magic of the capital market is getting more surreal Giving memes is not as good as giving coins, just saying

If I had known that meme tokens could be used to harvest profits, I wouldn't have played with coins; I would have just made meme-related merchandise.

Damn, this is the logic of the crypto world. As long as there's consensus, you can trade, and you don't even need fundamentals. Can memes also be used to harvest profits? That's a bit too much. But honestly, compared to those worthless coins, memes at least have some value. Wait, virtual assets as New Year gifts? Are they trying to get my family into the crypto world too? Haha. Next year, should I prepare some meme coin red envelopes for New Year? Only memes that can make money are good memes; everything else is just entertainment. This round is really all-in on internet culture. Basically, collective FOMO has been turned into a consumer product. There's no escaping it; internet memes are the biggest asset bubble of 2025.

So now even cutting leeks has to be about cultural confidence? --- The meme economy, to put it simply, is still a game of hot potato—whoever ends up holding the bag will cry. --- Wait, are you saying that the virtual assets I sent are actually just a high-level scam? --- Laughing to death, isn’t this just Web3 with a different disguise? Crypto enthusiasts have long been over it. --- No wonder I’ve seen so many VCs pouring money into memes recently; turns out it’s a new fundraising story. --- Turning cultural monetization into a reality—truly a genius move by the branding department. --- What do I think? I think you’re just hyping up for the upcoming crash. --- Sending virtual assets as New Year’s gifts? Haha, no wonder it’s a 2025 idea. --- So here’s the question: when will this meme actually become valuable? --- A bit scared, feeling like another wave of leeks being cut is about to start.
