EIGEN's move is a bit uncomfortable. I remember last year everyone regarded it as a benchmark for the re-staking track, and now it has announced a shift towards cloud service validation.

Honestly—this is quite disappointing. The EIGEN team is one of the few in this circle that keeps their word, but they chose to turn around at this moment. What does this imply? It’s not that no one believes in the re-staking track; the key point is even more painful: no one is willing to put ETH into staking.

You see, they are not lacking the ability to build PoS consensus systems. The core issue still lies in market demand. When the underlying assets for staking are inherently unattractive, no matter how fancy the mechanism design is, it’s all in vain. Now they simply pivot to doing validation layers for cloud computing, at least this demand is real and tangible.

This wave of transformation actually reflects the harsh reality of the entire track—ideals are grand, but reality is quite stark.

In plain terms, EIGEN's move is basically admitting that the path of re-staking is not feasible. Last year they hyped it up extravagantly, and now they are shifting to cloud computing validation, which is indeed a bit awkward.

Oops, another "project I liked" has run away... but this time it's not a run, it's a turn around. I told you earlier, staking is just a false demand.

In plain terms, reality has given EIGEN a slap in the face, and re-staking isn't as attractive as it seems.

Basically, it's just that the re-staking route doesn't work, so don't come up with all those fancy reasons.

Another "tactical shift," essentially meaning they have no money to burn. The benchmark re-staking from last year, now switching to cloud verification—doesn't that just prove how difficult financing is? I just want to know, how do those who went all-in on EIGEN early on feel now... But on the other hand, at least they still dare to turn around, unlike those who stubbornly continue to harvest the leeks.
