Ethereum ETF Spot Products Hit Entry Flow Record
Ethereum spot ETF products recorded the largest fund inflow in six weeks, marking a shift in institutional investors’ strategy who are beginning to look at cryptocurrencies beyond Bitcoin.
Data shows that on Tuesday (10/12), spot Ethereum ETF garnered $177.64 million, surpassing the inflow into spot Bitcoin ETF which was only $151.74 million.
Among other altcoin ETFs, Solana recorded the highest inflow with $16.54 million, followed by XRP with $8.73 million, while Dogecoin and Chainlink remained stagnant.
SynFutures CEO, Rachel Lin, called this movement evidence that investors are now more selective in choosing crypto assets.
“ETF flows tell a clear story. Investors are beginning to see Ethereum not just as an asset, but as infrastructure,” Lin said.
She added that increasing institutional interest is driven by staking products as well as the growth of the tokenization sector utilizing the Ethereum network.
To date, various ETF products have accumulated $21.40 billion in Ethereum, equivalent to about 5% of ETH’s market capitalization which reaches $400 million.
ETH Price Surges, Market Predicts New Targets
In the last 24 hours, Ethereum’s price increased by 6.9% to $3,329. This positive sentiment is also reflected in the Myriad prediction market, where the chance of ETH reaching $4,500 now stands at 58%, a sharp increase from below 30% earlier this month.
Although Bitcoin still dominates institutional fund allocation, Lin assesses that the current dynamics indicate a structural change:
“Ethereum is attracting significant inflows even as Bitcoin slows down. This indicates a long-term rotation, not just short-term trading.”
Major Financial Institutions Begin Opening Doors for Crypto ETFs
Bullish sentiment is further reinforced by Bitwise CIO, Matthew Hougan, who stated that four of the largest financial institutions in the US—Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, UBS, and Wells Fargo—have started opening access to crypto ETFs in the last six months.
“Trillions of dollars can now flow into crypto ETFs, access that wasn’t available six months ago,” Hougan said.
He estimates 2026 will be a record year for crypto ETF inflows.
Future Outlook: Ethereum Has Potential to Become ETF Darling
Lin predicts ETF inflows will increase toward 2026 as products mature and regulatory clarity improves. In an improving macro environment, Ethereum is expected to absorb a larger share of ETF demand due to its utility and yield potential.
