Shanghai hosted the opening of the Global Developer Pioneers Summit 2025 alongside the International Embodied Intelligence Competition on December 13. The event showcases embodied intelligence applications across multiple scenarios—from manufacturing floors and service sectors to household assistants. This competition represents the latest progress in robotics and intelligent systems, drawing attention from developers and tech pioneers exploring real-world implementations of AI-powered physical systems.

Embodied intelligence has really heated up. It would be great if an AI butler could come home.

Embodied intelligence is really hot right now, but it still feels mostly like hype and concept speculation. How many robots are actually capable of doing work now? How is the scale of this summit? Are the participating projects reliable? Since Shanghai is hosting this event, it's probably going to attract another wave of VC funding. I'm actually interested in the home assistant segment. When will it be available for purchase and use?

Regarding embodied intelligence, to be honest, I am still optimistic about it. The true realization of AGI might depend on this.

Embodied intelligence is really taking off. Is it time to get a robot assistant at home too? Haha

Embodied intelligence is really hot right now. Having an AI robot to clean at home is no longer a dream. --- Honestly, I can understand robots entering factories, but household assistants will have to wait a bit longer. --- It's Shanghai again, and an international summit—can this buzz translate into products? --- Manufacturing + services + home furnishings, basically covering everything. Let's see who can develop something usable first. --- The embodied intelligence competition is well organized, but I wonder what those robots will ultimately bring to market. --- Developers are tinkering with new gadgets again. Looking forward to this wave.

Here we go again, hosting the "Global Pioneer Summit" every year [sarcastic]. Data shows that only 13% of projects participating in these conferences are still active after three years. Interesting, right? Has true embodied intelligence been implemented? Or are they just showing concepts again? The question is, who will pay for this bunch of demo robots? Ironically, every time they talk about the "latest progress," but the cost curve has never come down. Let's check back in half a year to see how many have actually entered the factory floor.
