I saw someone’s wallet was hacked again. No matter how many times I say this, it’s never enough. Let’s review the common ways wallets get stolen.

**Avoid These Three Major Traps: Secret Phrase Leaks, Phishing Sites, Fake Customer Service**

First, let’s talk about the high-risk operation—

**Can you use a fingerprint browser?** Yes, but with conditions.
It must be used with a hardware wallet! This way, the private key will never be exposed in the browser environment. Multiple browser instances do support connecting hardware wallets, so don’t think that opening multiple browsers means you can’t use cold wallets.

The only exception: browsers used for testing network scripts, which originally contain empty wallets. But now, testnet airdrops are over, so probably no one is using them as slaves anymore.

**Here’s the key—environment isolation**

The most ideal solution? Get a Mac or Linux laptop dedicated to on-chain activities.
But considering cost and daily efficiency, simply installing a virtual machine is enough. VMware is now free, and Windows’ built-in Hyper-V works too. Don’t think it’s complicated; a tech novice can set it up in an hour. Preferably choose Ubuntu as the OS; if not, Windows will do.

**Virtual machine setup checklist (follow these steps):**
- After installing the OS: turn off clipboard synchronization
- Install only three things: Chrome browser + Scam Sniffer (blocks phishing sites) + a mainstream wallet plugin
- Don’t install any other software
- Remember to regularly update system patches

This virtual machine only does one thing—

You're right, hardware wallets are truly a necessity; otherwise, fingerprint browsers are pointless. Setting up a virtual machine is really essential, but I'm worried that people who find it troublesome might still get stolen. Never screenshot the mnemonic phrase; I've seen too many people mess up because of this. Environment isolation is the key, but unfortunately most people are still lazy. Setting up an Ubuntu virtual machine takes about an hour, much faster than losing coins. Phishing sites are really hard to defend against, so using Scam Sniffer is a must. This plan is basically about spending a little time for peace of mind, and it's worth it. Turning off clipboard sync is something I hadn't thought of before; I've learned from it.

Hardware wallet paired with a fingerprint browser is truly unbeatable. --- Virtual machine isolation is eco-friendly and cost-saving, but a bit cumbersome. --- Really, mnemonic phrases are more dangerous than private keys. Never screenshot them. --- Testnet slaves are a thing of the past; now everyone is competing on the mainnet. --- The clipboard synchronization feature is amazing; many people have fallen for this trap. --- It seems that the cost of protection is actually much lower than periodic theft. --- The key is to break the habit of randomly clicking and pasting in daily use. --- Hardware wallets are currently the most reliable solution, though the initial investment is a bit high. --- Every time I see theft news, I want to go through this checklist again and again. --- Setting up an Ubuntu virtual machine in an hour is much faster than messing around with wallet accounts.

Hardware wallets are the way to go; these defenses are reliable. I got scared again and need to quickly install a virtual machine. Mnemonic phrases are even more sensitive than private savings; gotta keep them under tight control. A virtual machine can be set up in an hour, so why worry every day? Phishing sites are really hard to prevent; I must install Scam Sniffer. Looks like buying a hardware wallet is the only way to feel secure. Environment isolation is indeed a great trick, though it can be a bit of a hassle. Using multiple browsers with hardware wallets—I really like this combo. I turned off clipboard synchronization; many people overlook this detail. Feels like my security measures are still not enough.
