Seeing that many people reposted this post that I wasted 8 years in Crypto, I was deeply touched but felt too pessimistic, so I added a few objective views:
1) I have also been in the circle for 17 years, which is exactly 8 years, although there are ups and downs in the process, but I think joining the Crypto field is the biggest opportunity in my life, whether it is personal growth, wealth accumulation, resources and connections accumulation, it far exceeds the experience of the past 10 years of the Internet.
This is an absolute fact, and the heart of gratitude for Crypto will always be there.
2) To be honest, from the perspective of pure experience, the Crypto industry has become more and more mature in the past 8 years, but it has also become worse and worse, without the pure cypherpunkism, Holder faith, without the motivation to continue to learn innovative technologies, and without the persistent belief in the future of Crypto to change the Internet.
Instead, it is pure PVP game and nihilistic financialism, although it is difficult, disgusting, and crazy, but in order to "make money", how many people enjoy it with mask disguise.
3) The crypto industry itself is an industry that exists based on "consensus", and the difficulties everyone feels are intuitive manifestations of consensus splits. But from the beginning of most people believing, to now a small number of people believing, and then to the possibility that most people will leave in the future, all the costs come from the breakdown of consensus.
This is why I have repeatedly called on leading exchanges, old OGs, excellent builders, and Devs to reunite consensus and work together to innovate on the chain. Because, blindly divided and divided, any false prosperity created by short-termism will bring more painful costs, and there will be no winners in the long run. Well, crypto for good! For you, me, and him.
4) Undoubtedly, we have reached the darkest moment of the crypto industry, and some people may not take it seriously, because their addiction to the current situation of casinoization and individual egoism has overshadowed the growth of the industry itself. But I always believe that more people still hope that the industry can grow benignly, the market can operate in an orderly manner, and even if they make money, they can stand and do it.
Yes, even if you see the essence of the casino clearly, most people still give it the best vision. Pessimists are often right, but optimists can change the world, and I choose to be the person who "still loves the industry after seeing the truth".
5) The biggest paradox in the current Crypto industry is that the most advanced technology is used to repeat the most primitive financial games. The disconnect between technology and application, and the decoupling of value and price, sounds contradictory, but it is even more ironic.
But fortunately, those who joined the Crypto industry without hesitation in the earlier cycle did bring a lot of different things, the DeFi Lego building has not yet collapsed, and how many DeFi farmers have been supported by the gameplay of mortgage lending and mining; The NFT, layer2, and Agent craze has been criticized for speculating on bubbles, but it is undeniable that there is always value precipitated after each bubble bursts.
The crypto industry is uniquely positioned to cold start, trial and error, and iteration due to its unregulated nature. This allows us, whether opportunists or restless explorers of innovation, to have more possibilities to seize opportunities. At this point, the background color of the crypto industry has never changed.
Above.
I love Crypto because I love its complexity and change. What really changes the world is never those who choose to flee after seeing the truth, but those who still choose to stay and fight after seeing the truth. I will encourage you together.
