It seems the doves in the US have gained the upper hand!

US SEC Chair hints at rapidly advancing key crypto regulatory agenda at the start of the new year, says "the best is yet to come"
On December 10, according to The Block, Paul Atkins, Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), commented on the agency’s focus on a series of key crypto policy priorities in the new year: "The best is yet to come. Next year, all the seeds we've sown will start to sprout, and then we'll be able to reap the rewards." Atkins has set out an ambitious agenda aimed at clarifying the agency’s stance on cryptocurrencies. He revealed that one of the top priorities for the new year will be a “innovation exemption” for crypto and fintech projects—a conditional, time-limited regulatory relief framework designed to lower compliance costs and encourage innovation. He stated that he hopes to officially launch this framework around the end of January.

Regarding the issue of token classification, he turned his attention to Capitol Hill. Lawmakers are working on a comprehensive cryptocurrency regulation bill, one of the core elements of which is to clarify the jurisdictional boundaries between the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Previous reports indicated that the Senate was working hard to advance the bill, aiming to get it through a critical Senate Banking Committee review by the end of the year, but negotiations currently do not seem to be progressing smoothly. Atkins said, "We await the legislative outcome from Congress." $BNB
