I was holding a position in an altcoin, thinking I could hold on a bit longer, but then I got liquidated out of nowhere. I was fuming, wondering if the risk control system was broken—how could it be this strict?
I was about to go off in a support ticket, my fingers already on the keyboard.
But literally three minutes later, the price tanked so hard it made my scalp tingle. If I hadn’t been liquidated, my account would be deep in the red by now. It wouldn’t just be a partial loss—I’d actually owe the platform money. That’s brutal.
Suddenly, I wasn’t mad anymore.
Sometimes you have to admit that when a liquidation is coming, there’s no way to dodge it, but a good risk control system can help you lose less. Sure, getting force-liquidated sucks in the moment, but it’s better than a total blowup. Looking back, the liquidation price was actually pretty spot-on—like someone hit the brakes for me just in time.
I guess I paid for a valuable lesson. Next time I use leverage, I really need to be more careful.

Hmm... This risk control seems like a trap, but it actually saved our lives.
