The possibility of a rate cut is getting closer, and I’ve been thinking about how to position myself.

Honestly, the reason I’ve been able to stay steady in the crypto space these past two years is because of that old saying—“buy the rumor, sell the news.” It sounds simple, but not many people truly grasp this logic. Back when the rate cut expectations started building, I got in early on Pippin, ZEC, and ETH. Then, when the news actually dropped and market sentiment peaked, I sold decisively. After a few rounds of this, the returns have been pretty decent.

Now, with a new round of rate cut expectations brewing, I feel like it’s time to make a move again. Of course, the exact strategy will depend on the charts, but this time the opportunity seems pretty obvious. When it comes to market sentiment, expectations are often worth more than reality. By the time the real news hits, the price already pumped.

What projects are you all watching right now? Are you getting ready in advance?

Damn, I'm playing with this logic too. I'm just afraid that when expectations become reality this time, it'll crash.

Buy the rumor, sell the news—I've heard this saying too many times, but in reality, only a small group of people actually make money from it. That's true, expectations do drive the market more than reality, but the problem is how to determine when the top is. It still feels risky to rely on experience alone. Now the rate cut expectations are back again, but I think the most dangerous time is when everyone is waiting for it. Opportunities that retail investors can all see are usually not real opportunities.

Buy the rumor, sell the news—it's easy to say but hard to do. Most people fail at managing their emotions. Emm, but can Pippin really keep up this time? Feels like the hype isn't as big as the previous two rounds. Once the rate cut actually happens, it's definitely time to exit. History always repeats itself... I'm bullish on ZEC this round; those who positioned early should make a killing. Honestly, the expectation phase is the most profitable. When reality hits, it's just bag-holding. ETH is a standard allocation, but this round feels riskier than the last.

Buy the rumor, sell the news—we’ve all heard this phrase countless times, but what really matters is having the guts to sell when it’s time. At the end of the day, it’s all about betting on human nature, betting on FOMO. If you get it, you profit; if you don’t, you get rekt. Wait, did you really manage to get out completely during that Pippin wave before? Or are you still stuck and waiting to break even? Feels like it’s the same old playbook this round, getting a bit tired of it, huh?
