At the end of 2023, I entered the market with $1,200 in spare cash, just wanting to give it a try. The result? By the time I cashed out in November 2024, XRP, ZEN, and ETH had pushed my account up to over $6 million—you read that right, a 187x return.

To be honest, it’s not because I’m some genius; it’s that the rules of the crypto game are truly different from those of traditional markets.

In 20 years, the A-shares market rose 78%. If you put in $100,000 for 20 years, you’d only get $178,000—not even enough to outpace inflation. But look at the period from 2023 to 2024: Bitcoin went up 230%. That same $100,000 could turn into $330,000 in just one year. The efficiency gap is obvious.

I used to trade A-shares too and lost so much I doubted myself. It wasn’t until I got into crypto that I realized: with the right timing, the speed of money flow is on a whole different level.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for me. In April 2024, my $170,000 position dropped directly to $50,000, all because I stubbornly held onto old coins like ADA, thinking about “value investing.” The result? When new coins took off, I was left behind.

Here’s how I turned things around with three strategies:

**First: For new coins, watch the holdings and timing**
Old coins have too much dispersed holdings, making price pumps hard. I focused only on new coins where the top 10 holders own over 60%. The best window is 3-7 days after listing. I’d test with a small position, add more if it broke 160% above issue price, and take profits in batches once it hit 2.8x. Did this with APT—5x in three months.

**Second: Get ahead of the hot trends**
I spend 40 minutes a day reading industry news, but the key is to act before the news becomes mainstream. A month before Ethereum’s May upgrade, I bought OP—2.7x in 18 days. In July, when the AI + blockchain narrative took off, I got into FET on day one—2.5x in a month. If you’re late, all the gains are gone.

**Third: Use valuation to set take-profit lines**
If a major coin’s market cap is 20% above the industry average, it’s time to trim. For new coins, I only look at those with a valuation under $2 billion and real-world applications. This year I bought into a new chain at a $3.2 billion valuation, sold everything when it hit $7.8 billion, and sure enough, it pulled back 38% after. Greed comes at a price.

But no matter how many techniques you have, mindset is key. I only traded three times all year and made 15x returns; I’ve seen people trading 10+ times a day and end up losing 82% over three years.

My approach: spend 99% of the time waiting, 1% taking action. I add coins I like to my watchlist, wait for Bitcoin to drop more than 12% in a single day or for the market to reach the end of a consolidation phase, then buy in and delete the app. When I held OP, I didn’t check the charts for a month and a half—avoided six pullbacks and captured the full 2.5x gain.

Now the market is in another consolidation phase, which is the perfect window to build positions. I’ve picked out a few targets (3 mainstream coins + 1 new coin) and plan to scale in. Consolidation phases test your patience the most, but they’re also when you can pick up coins for cheap.

Making money in crypto isn’t hard; what’s hard is sticking to your rules and controlling your emotions. If you’re still on the sidelines, start doing your homework now—wait until the bull market arrives and it’ll be too late.

Whoa, 187x? How many people are laughing in their dreams? --- $1200 turning into $6 million, is that real? I feel like this is just showing off. --- The key is still mindset. Not watching the market every day actually earns more. I need to reflect on this. --- That idea of 60% of new coin chips is really wild. I'll try it next time. --- It's the same old story, I've heard it several times. The key is how many people can actually execute it—they really can't do it. --- Wait, when was the clear-out? Are you still in the crypto world now? --- Bitcoin drops 12% in a day to buy the dip? That's a pretty risky gamble. --- To be honest, I trust his losing experience more. His gains seem too smooth to be entirely real. --- That valuation of 2 billion, I’ve noted it down. Feels more reliable than blindly buying. --- It sounds simple, but there aren’t many people who can really hold back and avoid watching the market, right?

Wow, 187x? This guy must be joking, why don't I have that kind of luck? That's right, the crypto circle is more wild than A-shares, but I still think the risk is huge. I've memorized these three tricks, next time I'll try that logic with new coins. My mindset is really amazing; I’m the type who watches the market every day, the more I watch, the more I lose. Wait, are you saying to buy only if it drops 12%? Then I need to set a reminder. This guy really seems to have made a profit, but it feels like luck played a bigger role. I totally agree with the saying that 99% are waiting for this; it's really hard to do. But now is indeed the time to enter the market, anyway, I have nothing else to do anyway.

187x? Bro, you're not trading coins, you're printing money, I can't stop laughing. It's profitable, but can you hold onto it? That's the real question. The fate of those who watch the market every day is right there, no wonder they lost 82%. Waiting for this thing may sound simple, but how many can truly lie around 99% of the time? I believe you didn't look at the market during that OP wave, but dare to ask, can you resist the next time?

Wow, 187x? This guy really isn't joking around. But I have to say, this theory sounds great, but when it comes to real operation, it still depends on talent. I also thought about that wave of APT, but I was too slow and got bottomed out by others, uh.

Damn, 1200u can turn into over 6 million? This is just ridiculous. Why do I feel like I'm always the one left holding the bag?

187x, really? Or are you making up stories again, haha. I need to learn this trick of uninstalling the app. I'm exactly the type who keeps watching the charts every day and ends up losing money. The new token concentration metric is actually pretty useful, I'll try it next time. But honestly, most people just aren't lucky enough to catch this bull run. Wait, are you about to shill another coin again?

187x is indeed outrageous, but I feel like a lot of people have heard about this theory. Wait, I need to learn this trick of uninstalling the app. I'm exactly the type who stares at the charts all day and ends up losing money. I've noted down the 60% allocation for new coins. I'll try it next time. You're right, mindset really is more important than technique. The key is, I just can't stick with it. Not gonna lie, I also want that feeling of quick in-and-out trades. It sounds simple, but when I actually try it, I get nervous and everything falls apart.

Turning 1,200U into 6 million isn’t skill, it’s just probability. The survivor bias is so obvious here. I’ve learned the trick of uninstalling the app—otherwise watching it hit limit down every day would make me depressed. I need to pay attention to that 60% new token allocation next time—no more holding onto junk coins. 2.7x in 18 days? You could make money with the right news timing, but one misstep and you’re screwed. Taking profit and selling everything after 7.8 billion? That’s someone who really understands the market—not like those who get greedy and end up in losses. People who lose 82% in 3 years are probably the ones trading every day. They know the theory, just can’t control their hands. Getting ahead of the trend takes time investment—not everyone can watch the market that closely. Sounds good, but how many corrections do you need to experience before you truly get it? Beginners will definitely lose money if they try this. Mindset is key, but the most valuable part is “persistence.” 99% waiting for that 1% move—it sounds easy, but it’s hell to actually do. It’s well explained, but all this experience comes from the unique conditions of 2024. When the next crash hits, you’ll still get wiped out.

Damn, 187x—bro, is this for real? I mean, turning 6 million in just half a year does sound a bit crazy. Can you share the detailed trades? I agree with the new coins part; the old coins really can't move, but the risk is huge too. By the way, what are you holding now? Feels like it's worth following.

Damn, 187x—that’s some insane luck. But honestly, it really comes down to mindset and timing. I’ve picked up on this trick of concentrating chips in new tokens, I’ll try it next time.
