Last night I saw remarks from a Federal Reserve governor, and to be honest, I was a bit shocked—crypto is no longer seen as a “fringe product” in their eyes? More importantly, they’re preparing to launch a streamlined main account, allowing stablecoin issuers to connect directly to the Fed’s payment system.

If this goes through, the impact will be significant. Settlement efficiency could be greatly improved, and costs would come down. In other words, the authorities are giving crypto assets a “green channel” to directly access the national financial network.

Who will benefit first?

✓ Compliant stablecoins: Those like USDC and USDP, which have always followed a compliance route, will see improvements in efficiency and credibility once they connect to the central bank’s system.
✓ Fiat bridge institutions: Platforms like Custodia Bank and Kraken, which have been working to bridge fiat and crypto, could see a qualitative leap in user transfer experience.
✓ DeFi protocols: If Aave, Compound, and similar projects can access smoother and more compliant liquidity, on-chain friction will decrease and opportunities will increase.

Although the account functionality is still quite limited, its significance is major—the wall between traditional finance and crypto is finally being proactively pierced by the authorities.

Also, this week’s financial calendar is packed:
• Powell speaks tonight—the market is waiting for his guidance;
• Tuesday, the Fed has asset operations scheduled;
• Wednesday, PMI data will show how the economy is doing;
• Thursday, initial jobless claims—real employment conditions will be revealed;
• Friday, balance sheet announcement—money flows will become clear.

With these policy signals and dense data releases, you’ll need to keep a close eye on how the market reacts.

Coming to fleece me again? Compliant stablecoins connecting to central bank channels—let's be honest, the authorities just want control over the narrative. I’d better cash out my airdropped USDC for free as soon as possible.

Wait, can USDC really overtake like this? It doesn't seem that simple.

This wave of compliant stablecoins is solid, betting five bucks USDC will take off first.
