Michael Saylor, who leads Strategy, has proposed building a Bitcoin-linked digital banking system targeting nations.

At the ‘Bitcoin MENA’ event held in Abu Dhabi, Saylor argued, “Introducing a digital banking system that utilizes Bitcoin collateral and tokenized credit can offer higher returns than traditional bank deposits.”

He pointed out that bank deposit interest rates in Japan, Europe, and Switzerland are extremely low or even nonexistent, with euro money market funds yielding about 1.5 percentage points and US money market rates at around 4 percentage points. He stressed that “investors are moving to the corporate bond market due to low deposit rates,” and emphasized that a Bitcoin-based financial system could be an alternative.

He also proposed a structure in which digital credit products make up 80% of total funds, 20% are in fiat currency, and 10% serve as reserve funds. Through this, countries could offer high-yield, low-volatility financial products and attract capital on a trillion-dollar scale. He added, “Countries that adopt this model will become global digital financial hubs.”

Meanwhile, Strategy recently purchased an additional 16,024 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 66,624 BTC. Saylor has already introduced similar financial products, and Strategy launched STRC last July, offering a variable dividend rate of 10%. Although STRC is designed to maintain price stability through Bitcoin-linked operations, it has received some skepticism due to Bitcoin’s volatility.
