CZ responds to "CEX employees profiting from token launches" incident: Although I no longer manage CEX, I will still assist in handling reports of employee misconduct.
On December 9, CZ responded on the X platform to the incident of “CEX employees allegedly profiting from issuing tokens using insider information,” stating, “Although I am no longer managing CEX, if users report employees’ misconduct to me via private messages or comments, I will handle it properly. I have heard that the above-mentioned case has already been reported to the authorities. CEX maintains close cooperation with law enforcement agencies in various countries (mainly to assist them), and those involved have nowhere to hide.”
According to previous reports, CEX stated on social media that its investigation into the “suspected employee-issued tokens” showed that the tokens issued on-chain by the employee at 13:29 (UTC+8) on December 7 matched parts of the text and images used in the tweet posted by the CEX Futures account at 13:30. Upon verification, the incident was confirmed to involve the employee suspected of using their position for personal gain, which seriously violated the company’s relevant regulations and code of conduct. The employee involved has been immediately suspended pending further disciplinary action. CEX has proactively contacted and will actively cooperate with the relevant law enforcement agencies in the employee’s location and will take appropriate legal action in accordance with applicable laws. As promised, a total reward of $100,000 will be evenly distributed among the first 5 individuals to submit valid reports.
