A recent interview with the SEC chairman revealed a pretty crucial piece of information—the upcoming "Innovation Exemption Act" set for early 2026 could seriously accelerate the pace at which US financial markets move on-chain if it actually gets implemented. When that happens, the RWA (Real World Assets) sector is likely to see a real explosion.

You might not realize just how tiny a share tokenized securities currently have in the US stock market: only about 0.001%. What does this mean? The growth ceiling is insanely high. In the interview, the SEC chairman specifically highlighted three tangible benefits of tokenization:

First is transparency. In traditional markets, shareholder information is often a mess, but on-chain holdings can be checked in real-time—this is a must-have for institutional investors.

Then there's settlement efficiency. Right now it’s T+1, but with tokenization it could be compressed to nearly T+0—almost real-time settlement. Not only is that faster, but more importantly, it can significantly reduce the systemic risk caused by settlement delays.

And overall risk decreases as well. The clearing window disappears, counterparty risk is eliminated, and institutions like investment banks can see real improvements in both cost and risk management.

Looking deeper, the RWA sector might be stuck at a key inflection point right now. Once the policy door opens, from the most fundamental infrastructure (compliant public chains, on-chain identity, KYC systems), to the middle layers of asset registration and clearing, and up to vertical application platforms at the top—the entire industry chain could be revalued. At this stage, it might just be the perfect time to dig deep into those potential targets that haven’t yet been fully priced in.
