The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) obtained data on approximately 2,500 users of Dapper Labs in its second crypto tax investigation. The agency's 35-person crypto audit team has recovered more than $72 million from tax evaders over three years, but has not filed any criminal charges since 2020. The CRA stated that it is difficult to reliably identify the tax status of crypto users. Since 2020, the agency has launched five criminal investigations related to digital assets, four of which are still ongoing and no charges have been filed yet. This is the second time a Canadian court has issued a similar order to disclose user data, following a 2020 order requiring Coinsquare to do so. (The Block)
