According to TechCrunch, Coinbase has announced the reopening of registrations for Indian users and plans to launch a fiat on-ramp in 2026, allowing users to directly deposit funds to purchase cryptocurrencies. Previously, after entering the Indian market in 2022, Coinbase was forced to suspend operations due to restrictions on the UPI payment interface and fully exited in 2023. This year, the company has registered with the Indian Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and has been gradually reopening user access since October. Currently, Coinbase also plans to expand its 500-person team in India and continue investing in the local exchange CoinDCX.
