SeQura, the Spanish commerce platform born in Barcelona that promotes service purchases, joined the vacation package site Lastminute to offer its customers exclusive benefits. One of them includes rewards in bitcoin (BTC).
Benefits of the collaboration
Through this collaboration, you can access Lastminute from the seQura app to purchase flights, hotels, tour packages, and travel experiences through two alternatives:
One-time payment: allows you to get 5% of the value as cashback (gift rebate) in bitcoin. For example, if you buy a trip that costs 100 euros, you can receive 5 euros back in bitcoin. These are transferred directly to the wallet address provided by the person, through an authorized crypto asset service provider.
Alternative without bitcoin: if you don’t want bitcoin, the one-time payment includes the option to receive cashback in points from their rewards program, Qoins. Each of these is equivalent to one euro.
There is also the option to pay in three interest-free installments to split payments into smaller amounts, although this feature does not provide cashback in bitcoin or points.
These travel bookings are added to the Smart Shopping experience in seQura, which provides rewards in bitcoin and Qoins for purchases of various services. For now, Lastminute bookings in the app will only be available in Spain, although expansion to other European markets is planned for 2026.
Bitcoin brings together travel giant and shopping service in Spain
With the integration, the vacation package site, which is listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange, becomes the first major tourism partner included in seQura’s Smart Shopping sector, expanding its offering in the travel category.
“Being part of the seQura app’s offering allows us to reach a rapidly growing audience within a highly interactive ecosystem, giving travelers more options, more flexibility, and another way to book,” said Lucio Marazzi, director of European alliances at Lastminute.
This partnership is driven by the Spanish fintech Roiward, seQura’s technology partner. Its infrastructure allows the integration of travel inventory, supports regulatory requirements, and manages the booking flow.
“With lastminute.com in our Smart Shopping ecosystem and with Roiward supporting us in infrastructure, users can now book trips with more control and access bitcoin rewards that have real long-term value,” said David Bäckstrom, CEO of seQura, showcasing his bullish vision for BTC.
Market context
This move comes two months after bitcoin reached a new all-time high price of 126,000 dollars (USD). The growing corporate and institutional demand, as well as government interest in investing in the currency, has driven this scenario.
