Web3 identity has always had a trust problem - how do you prove who you are without handing over everything about yourself?
That's where idOS steps in. They've built something different: encrypted credentials that stay in YOUR wallet, not some company's database. Think of it as carrying a verified passport that only shows the page customs needs to see, nothing more.
Here's what makes it work - your identity becomes truly portable. One verification, endless platforms. Apps get just enough verified data for KYC or onboarding, you keep full control over what's shared. No more re-uploading documents or trusting platforms with your entire digital life.
The real game-changer? It actually solves the fragmentation mess we've been dealing with across chains and dApps.

To be honest, this logic sounds very similar to traditional banks' "privacy protection" promises, only to end up being Clip Coupons. Can idOS escape its fate this time?
Identity data in the hodl Wallet? Just listen to it, when it comes down to the crucial moment, it's still the on-chain behavior that matters.
Another "perfect solution", I bet five bucks that there will definitely be security vulnerabilities within two years, but I'm still all in [GT].
Portable identity sounds sophisticated, but it's just turning centralized trust into on-chain trust, with no essence change, just a different disguise.
If this were the Van Gogh era, people would have used this stuff to evade taxes long ago; instead, the web3 era insists on transparency. Isn't it ironic?

ngl this idea is indeed refreshing... managing identification information by oneself should really become the standard, right?

This idea sounds good, but how many can actually be implemented? The key still depends on whether there are people using the ecosystem...
