Recently, I suddenly realized that what Lorenzo is working on is actually the "hard labor" that we have always taken for granted.
What have we been doing in the DeFi space these years? To put it bluntly, it’s all about searching for high yields everywhere — like hunting, frantically switching between different chains and protocols. Today we rush to Pool A, tomorrow we dive into Liquidity B, and we’re exhausted while constantly monitoring the APY to adjust our positions.
This is not an investment at all; it's clearly just moving bricks.
What Lorenzo has done is quite different. It's not just opening a new hunting ground for you, but rather helping you build an automated farm.
You just need to throw in the assets, set the type of returns you want, and the subsequent watering, fertilizing, and crop rotation will all be handled by the "Yield Router" in the protocol. No need for you to monitor or take action.
This is a change at the cognitive level. How exactly does it change?
**First, the definition of assets has changed**
In the past, when you held stETH, wbBTC, or some RWA tokens, what you held was the "coin itself," and the yield was just an accompanying attribute.
But Lorenzo's OTF allows you to hold a "living strategy" directly. What you have in your hands is no longer a static token, but a yield instruction package that adjusts and balances itself. Assets have become raw materials, and strategies are the real product.
**Secondly, the combination method has also changed**
The previous modularity
To be honest, those days of running around the full chain were really exhausting, but this new approach has some substance.
Productizing strategies? This really elevates the game; it feels like the whole narrative has changed.
Lorenzo's idea is a bit like installing autopilot for us; we no longer have to watch the charts 24/7.
Well said, the assets themselves haven't changed, but the logic of holding them has completely reversed. This is a true paradigm shift.
