The recent one-week activity of crypto developers on GitHub continues to keep a pulse on the technical advancements in the industry.
As of June 2025, the projects and ecosystems with the highest developer interest have been announced. At the top of the list were Cardano (ADA) and Ethereum (ETH).
Cardano finished the week in first place by a wide margin in core developer activities. A total of 53 developers contributed to Cardano’s 550 core repositories with 355 core commits. These figures earned Cardano the top spot on a weekly basis. While a 0.3% increase in the number of commits was observed on a monthly basis, there was a 9.8% decrease in the number of developers.
The activities across the Cardano ecosystem were on a downward trend. 1173 commits (%-25.26) and 176 developers (%-19.92) showed a decline compared to previous months.
Although Ethereum shows low performance in terms of direct core contributions, it stands out with the scale of its ecosystem. A total of 1567 projects running on the Ethereum network were supported by 1572 developers this week. Developers made 24,144 commits in these projects. However, there was a 24.68% decrease in the number of developers and an 18.04% decrease in the number of commits.
