Stripe is enhancing features related to stablecoins.
With the new service “Stablecoin Financial Accounts”, companies can hold and transfer stablecoins.
CEO Patrick Collison stated that stablecoins and AI are “not just one, but two strong tailwinds.”

US payment giant Stripe has enhanced its stablecoin-related features, providing services for businesses to receive and hold payments in stablecoins.

Following the acquisition of the stablecoin platform Bridge, the company announced on May 8 a new fund management service called “Stablecoin Financial Accounts” utilizing stablecoins.

At the annual event “Sessions,” the company’s CEO Patrick Collison stated that stablecoins and AI are “not just one, but two powerful tailwinds that dramatically transform the economic environment, far exceeding traditional scales.”

“We are building programmable financial services to provide financial services that can be operated and managed through programs, just like data,” said Will Gaybrick, President of Product & Business of the company.

Stripe recently announced that it is preparing a new stablecoin Settlement pilot program aimed at companies outside the US, UK, and EU.

Stablecoins, which are detached from the price volatility of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), are attracting attention as a promising use case for blockchain technology. Citi forecasts that the stablecoin market will grow to a market size of $3.7 trillion (approximately 530 trillion yen) by 2030, expanding 15 times from the current $240 billion (approximately 35 trillion yen).
