On May 8, Gaudiy announced that it has raised a total of 10 billion yen in funding during its pre-Series C round, with Sony Group and Bandai Namco Holdings as underwriters. An additional fundraising through a second close is also planned within the year.
On the same day, the three companies announced the launch of a strategic partnership in the entertainment and technology sectors. The release states, “In this strategic partnership, we aim to combine the strengths and assets of the three companies to deliver a more interesting, new, next-generation entertainment experience to IP fans around the world, and to jointly create a new ecosystem in the entertainment industry.”
Gaudiy aims to create a “fan nation” and offers the co-creation community platform “Gaudiy Fanlink” that connects fans and IP (intellectual property) to major entertainment companies. In 2025, it welcomed “MyAnimeList,” one of the largest anime and manga community sites in the world, boasting 19.5 million registered members and a 99% overseas usage rate, under its group umbrella.
The collaboration of the three companies has identified the following five key themes.

In the blockchain space, Sony’s L2 “Soneium” aims to utilize insights from Gaudiy’s research on tokenomics design and auction design, striving to create a mechanism that rewards creators fairly without exhausting fans.
Yuuya Ishikawa, CEO of Gaudiy, stated in a release, “Gaudiy is a company that continues to explore the creation of a ‘fan nation’ as its vision, seeking ways of value co-creation and smooth value distribution starting from people’s enthusiasm. I truly believe that entertainment has the power to change Japan and the world.”
