The cryptocurrency company Ripple wants to invest $25 million in the stablecoin RLUSD in the U.S. education system.

Ripple plans to financially support American schools and teachers. The crypto project has partnered with two major non-profit organizations in the education sector - DonorsChoose and Teach for America.

Why does Ripple need this

For the administration of President Donald Trump, education is not the most important area that the government needs to support. Recently, there has been increasing talk in the US about the potential reduction of funding for the educational system. This week, the States are starting “Teacher Appreciation Week” (, which is analogous to Teacher’s Day in Russia. The crypto project Ripple has decided to contribute to solving this problem.

“We take pride in supporting teachers and schools through our contribution of $25 million. As a large portion of the funds is being converted to RLUSD, this is a clear example of how stablecoins can change the real world — starting from classrooms,” noted Erik van Miltenburg, Senior Vice President of Ripple for Strategic Initiatives.

In the short term, the funds will be used for the general educational needs of public schools, rather than for teaching blockchain technologies. In the long term, the partners plan to launch initiatives to improve financial literacy, but this area is not a priority for now.

The Ripple project has previously donated RLUSD to charity. In January 2025, the platform team transferred $50,000 to combat wildfires in California. The company’s decision to allocate $25 million for educational initiatives is part of a PR strategy to promote the new stablecoin, which can be used for various needs, including charity.

After the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission )SEC( withdrew its lawsuit against Ripple, the project is increasingly building a positive narrative around its products. This, in particular, could positively impact the chances of an XRP-ETF appearing.
