XRP is on the verge of a major breakout with increasing buzz around spot ETFs 🌐
According to industry analyst Armando Pantoja, such a move could open the door to more than $100 billion in new capital for XRP, paving the way for a significant price movement.
The launch of ProShares' Ultra XRP, Short XRP, and Ultra Short XRP exchange-traded funds represents an important step forward, mirroring the pattern we saw with Bitcoin and Ethereum - where futures-based ETFs were approved first, ultimately paving the way for spot ETFs. Pantoga believes that XRP may soon join this path, providing institutions with a more direct way to interact with this asset.
While the futures exchange-traded fund does not create real buying pressure - as it only allows for speculation instead of actual token purchases - it does enhance momentum and legitimacy for XRP in the traditional finance sector. The spot exchange-traded fund, however, will create real demand, reducing supply, and could drive prices to significant heights, according to Pantoga. Caution. Analyst John Skour pointed out that futures exchange-traded funds, while important for recognition, do not cause a radical change in their adoption or prices without actual exposure to the tokens. He also noted the potential downsides of futures products, including hidden costs like rollovers, slippage, and management fees that could reduce returns.

Meanwhile, attention is turning to a number of XRP spot ETF applications, including proposals from Grayscale and 21Shares, with decisions expected later this year. Internationally, the momentum is already increasing: Hashdex recently launched the first XRP ETF in Brazil. In prediction markets like Polymarket, the odds of it being approved in the U.S. by 2025 are currently at 76%.

With the XRP price showing renewed strength, many see this as the beginning of a new chapter - where institutional adoption could finally put the altcoin in the spotlight.
