Metaplanet, Asia’s largest Bitcoin holding company, is actively promoting the integration of BTC into everyday life by launching a new payment card. According to plans, the “Metaplanet Card” will offer a 1.6% Bitcoin cashback on all transactions, with a scheduled release in summer, exclusively for shareholders. This move aims to turn daily expenses such as shopping and bill payments into opportunities to accumulate BTC, while also increasing the value of stock holdings.
The news has driven Metaplanet’s stock price up significantly, currently trading around $318, up nearly 3% for the day and over 6.3% for the month. Meanwhile, the company remains committed to its Bitcoin accumulation strategy, now holding 35,102 BTC, ranking fourth globally. Recently, Metaplanet also raised 40.8 billion yen from institutional investors to continue expanding its BTC holdings, thereby strengthening its position and promoting cryptocurrency adoption in Japan.
