Odaily Planet News According to official sources, ECC announced that zcashd 6.0.0 has been released and will deploy Network Upgrade 6 (NU6) during the next Zcash Halving, with activation height at 2726400, expected to occur around November 23, 2024. By then, NU6 will deploy a new Zcash Development Fund (Hybrid Deferred Dev Fund transitioning to a non-direct funding model) and establish a lockbox, part of the issuance of which will be designated for future Decentralization grants funding. The distribution of these funds will be managed by a mechanism determined by the future community to ensure that the funds are distributed within agreed upon constraints to maintain availability for the coming years. As part of the 6.0.0 upgrade, the team is deploying or has updated the following ZIPs: ZIP 207: Capital Flow (Updated); ZIP 214: Consensus rules for the Zcash Development Fund (updated); ZIP 236: Block should be fully balanced; ZIP 253: NU6 Network Upgrade Deployment; ZIP 1015: Overall reward distribution for non-direct development funds; ZIP 2001: Lockbox capital flow.
