URobinhood recently held its annual Women in Tech networking event at our office in Menlo Park—an evening designed to connect, celebrate, and inspire dialogue among the women and allies shaping the future of technology—and it did not disappoint!
This event united participants in a commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and impact, gathering over 100 attendees from Robinhood and the broader tech community.
The party kicked off with the following social topic: "What advice would you give to your younger self?" Regarding future issues, such as "If artificial intelligence could replace part of your job, what would you choose to do?" and "Would you be willing to pay with cryptocurrency?" These prompts struck a balance between introspection and curiosity - judging by the laughter and buzz in the room, no one was short of things to say.
Our panel discussion centered around the following theme: "As women in technology, how to lead growth, leadership, innovation, and impact." The panel was introduced by our Chief Technology Officer Jeff Pinner and hosted by talent acquisition and senior leadership. Our WIT ERG leaders and employee TPM introduced four outstanding technical leaders: Chief Security Officer, Vice President of Product, and two external speakers, Vice President of Engineering at Faire and Senior Director of Engineering at LinkedIn.
These leaders shared their stories of entering the tech industry—some intentionally, others by chance—and reflected on how focusing on impact and mastering their own skills serves as the cornerstone of career development. They spoke about trusting their instincts, sticking to their values, and resisting the pressure to go with the flow.
